KYOTO PROTOCOL AND ITS EMPHASIS FOR ENVIRONMENT
The Kyoto Protocol is a protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) aimed at fighting global warming. The Protocol initially was adopted on 11 December 1997 in Kyoto, Japan and entered into force on 16 February 2005. As of December 2009, 189 states have signed the protocol.
*The Kyoto Protocol is the only agreement against to the struggling with climate change.The countries which signed this agreement assured that to prevent the gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulphur hexafluoride etc.) oscillation or if they can’t do this to increase the rights of the countries on this agreement.
The Kyoto Protocol is known as with 3 categories. These are;
*Annex I countries-industrialised countries
*Annex II countries-developed countries
*Developing countries
The Kyoto Protocol requires 55 industrialised countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions to target levels 5.2% below that of 1990. If unable to, they must buy emission credits from countries that are under these levels. Further, it provides that developed countries pay for costs of developing countries. Developing countries have no requirements under the Protocol. They may sell emission credits and receive funds and technology from Annex II countries for climate-related studies and projects. Many Annex I and Annex II countries overlap.
National limitations range from 8% reductions for the European Union and others, to 7% for the US, 6% for Japan, 0% for Russia, and permitted increases of 8% for Australia and 10% for Iceland.
Briefly especially nowadays the climate change is in a bad and violent process.Everyone can observe the changes in climate even with a naked eye unfortunately.By this Kyoto Protocol the firms in every department, field will have renovated and maybe the most important profit is the countries from all around the world have finally realised that the climate change can shape the whole world completely of course in bad way.
So LET’S SUPPORT KYOTO PROTOCOL and DO SOMETHING FOR OUR PLANET…
