A [BIG] DREAM COMES TRUE: UKRAINE (Part-1)

Actually I wanted to mean “dream became true”…because for a long time I have been planning this Ukraine trippin’…

As I mentioned above I have been planning Ukraine trippin’ at least for 2 years depending on many reasons but unfortunately whenever I planned everything, something came out and wasn’t successful enough to come…

But finally a big dream has started to become true and I finally came…

@ Atatürk Airport in Istanbul

First of all I would like to mention about one stereo-type which even irritated me a lot before my journey…That was about Ukraine Airports…Many people from all around the world wrote about so-called awful attitudes of Ukrainian Airports (especially Kiev Borispil Airport) against to foreigners on many forums…These comments scared even me unfortunately but when I came I clearly understood that THERE IS NO NEED TO SCARE…Cause everything has changed and everything was even pretty good for all kind of foreigners from all around the world…Actually I also don’t think that it was so bad as they claimed even many years before…As we clearly know people like exaggerating even I like sometimes but for that kind of infos when we would like to write somethings especially on forums which are so easy for everyone to follow, we have to take care of what we write on there…

Ukraine trippin’ started pretty hard for me cause of different types of transportations…I firstly took a bus from Izmir to Istanbul which at least took 9 hours to reach European side of Istanbul…and then took a metro from bus station and went to Atatürk Airport…I waited 4 hours at there and the flight took 2 hours at least…

While I was coming to Ukraine, I realized one beauty…The country is so green…When we just finished to pass over Black Sea…the green fields had  started to seem us…That view reminded one country to me more…Slovenia…Ukraine is almost like Slovenia…I found one reason more to come Ukraine as I was witnessing to see that fields…

When we landed on the Kiev Borispil Airport, as I mentioned above everything went in the way which it should be…I was pretty glad about it…then I took a taxi with some people whom I had met from flight and went to Kiev center…

Kiev is Kiev for sure no need to mention how beautiful city it is actually I didn’t have enough time to see Kiev cause that time even I was trying to reach to Khmelnitsky city but even if I saw Kiev for about 2 hours I saw almost a certain part of Kiev by taxi…so even if I couldn’t stay at there, I can’t claim that I didn’t see anywhere in Kiev…

First of all Kiev center is really big and it is so easy to understand the historical background of the city if you know how to look at to the buildings…

Until that time as I told above I didn’t have even one problem about transportation or some other things…but unfortunately from that part it was a little bit hard for me…

In many post-Soviet countries there is a transportation system..~Marshrutka~That buses as one of my friends claimed are buses like which have some identity problems to be between bus or midibus…

The worst part of them is unfortunately most of them don’t have any air-conditioner and mostly hell crowded and for sure we can’t claim this directly but as I heard from many local people and some of my friends the drivers are generally crazy about speed and some of them don’t have even driving licence…For sure when I wanted (actually had to) use that buses; I hadn’t known these facts but I clearly saw when the journey started…

Actually I like speed but not that kind of speed especially with that kind of buses certainly…cause just imagine…the temperature of inside the bus was almost 50 celcius and it was hell crowded that you didn’t have any chance to move even but the driver was driving the bus like a Formula-1 car…for sure what do you feel or how do you feel?

After a certain time probably just 1 hour till the end of journey and I fell asleep especially if we consider that I had been travelling almost 24 hours…when I woke up I suddenly saw “Khmelnitsky”…I was quite happy and glad that finally a dream was becoming true…finally after a long process and hard journey I was arriving there…

When I reached to the train station of Khmelnitsky, I firstly saw Bogdan Khmelnitsky monument which is pretty famous monument in here…I started to wait my friend…then I saw her…she was coming down by the road…even if I was hell tired…I found enough energy to hug her…She probably surprised about my energy…but all these ways, waiting processes were for this for sure…to meet with a special person in real life after a very long knowing period…

But my happiness didn’t continue on so long cause as she told me now it was time for using local marshrutka…I was even ready to walk but she insisted on to use them as every normal person could insist on if they were in same situation if we consider it was impossible to walk all way with that kind of heavy bags and we used not even 1 marshrutka…2 marshrutka(s) (marshrutki)…

Then we reached where I was going to stay at least 3 weeks…
